The award is presented to companies that demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices in everyday operations, management philosophies and responses to challenges. The Greensboro chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals is the sponsor of the award.

An independent panel of judges selected award recipients based on four criteria: executive commitment, a formal corporate code of ethics, a policy for conflict resolution, and community involvement.
