Brady proudly hosted the Inaugural Community College Instructors Conference in their Greensboro office on Monday, October 28th, 2019. The conference provided a forum to collaborate with community college HVAC instructors and program chairs from across the state and provide opportunities to learn about best practices for recruiting and retaining students, get updates on industry trends and evolving technology, and provide them with an opportunity to network and discuss other common interests and challenges.
Thirty-five representatives from seventeen different colleges were in attendance. The conference explored technology trends and environment concerns that are leading changes in the HVAC/R industry. All attendees completed the program with a broader knowledge of apprenticeship programs that are supported through grants in North Carolina, and the availability of leadership and soft skill program memberships within Skills USA. The conference leaders additionally examined the importance of partnerships among colleges and industry to attract and develop the future workforce.
Brady has always been passionate about partnering with community colleges. Brady’s CEO Jim Brady states, “We think it is critical to partner with community colleges to connect real-world business requirements with community college curriculum. It is essential to have open dialogue with professors and program chairs to prepare our workforce of the future”.
