Brady Sponsors College Training Facility to Further the Next Generation

On June 21st, 2022, Brady associates joined sponsors and guests for the first Open House for the Center for Building Technologies facility at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC. The educational facility is home to classrooms, training areas, and some of the most advanced methods and tools in the industry.

In 2021, Brady entered into a partnership with Wake Technical Community College to sponsor the Donald J. Brady Training Suite and the Brady Commercial HVAC Lab in support of their heating, air conditioning, electrical and automation programs.

The Donald J. Brady Training Suite: the training suite was named after Brady’s late founder, Don Brady. The training suite consists of three commercial and residential HVAC labs, including the Brady Commercial HVAC Lab.

Brady Commercial HVAC Lab: the state-of-the-art lab includes various pieces of Mitsubishi commercial equipment installed by our own Brady technicians. Students will be able learn on real-world equipment that they would encounter on a job site.

Recent statistics show that there are over 80,000 current jobs that require a trained HVAC technician, but there are only about 260,000 HVAC technicians currently in the workforce. The rate of new technicians in the workforce is dropping at about 8% per year – so as the labor shortage continues to grow, so does the need for trained HVAC service technicians. Brady is committed to the training and education of next generation of service technicians through the training facility at Wake Tech, along with other initiatives such as the GAP (Guilford Apprenticeship Partners) Program.

The new educational building will train hundreds of students a year and play a role in creating the generations of skilled HVAC service technicians.
