An Innovative Solution for Sandy Grove Middle School
Hoke County in southeastern North Carolina is a high-growth, low-wealth county. Its population grew 40% between 2000 and 2010 and continues to grow. The county commissioners knew it would not be long before their schools began to swell with students, especially the two existing middle schools. Their biggest challenge was finding a way to fund the construction and operation of a new school.
Brady Expertise and Commitment: Creating Better Client Outcomes for North Carolina Schools
Recently the district’s administration began to address the physical and mechanical upgrades needed in the schools. Their three top priorities were lighting, plumbing, and HVAC upgrades. The first challenge they had to tackle was the perennial problem for many school systems: how to fund the needed work. They turned to the state’s performance contracting program as a potential means to get the work done.The project was spread across more than 3.5 million square feet of building space.

Durham, North Carolina is booming! Recognized as America’s eighth leading high-tech metro area and one of the best cities in which to begin a career, the city is growing in population, area, and prestige. This overall growth is paralleled by growth in K-12 school enrollment. The Durham Public Schools district has 53 schools, more than 34,000 students, 2243 teachers, and 4697 employees. It is no surprise, then, that DPS is one of North Carolina’s largest school districts.
Students Thrive and Schools Save Thanks To Optimized Environmental Systems
Hoke County is a small, mostly rural county in south-central North Carolina. One of the biggest things about Hoke County is that part of it is within the Fort Bragg military reservation. Fort Bragg is the largest military installation in the country, with more than 53,000 troops and 14,000 civilians working at the post, and a total population of roughly 260,000 when military families, contractors, and retirees are included.
Cary Christian School Implements State-of-the-Art Security and Safety System
Cary Christian School is a thriving, K-12 educational hub in the heart of Cary, North Carolina. Since opening their doors to 84 students in 1996, CCS has grown to serve more than 780 students each year. As their student body grew, so did their need for a larger, well-designed facility that would help them provide their students with a world-class education. Today, CCS is situated on a 21-acre campus that houses a large, four-wing main building, several ancillary buildings, and athletic fields and structures.
