The Challenge: No Margin for Delay
To keep operations running, the facility relied on a temporary rental chiller while a long-term replacement plan moved forward. But an unexpected factory delay pushed delivery into late summer. For a building supporting critical public services, that risk was not acceptable.
Every additional day of delay increased the potential for disruption to essential services and placed added strain on an already temporary solution.
The Brady Difference: A Proactive, People-First Approach
Rather than accept the delay, Brady’s team moved quickly and worked alongside project partners to find another path forward.
By identifying and securing a packaged, in-stock chiller already available within the supply chain, the team was able to accelerate delivery and keep the project moving. What could have become a significant setback was quickly turned into a manageable obstacle.
Coordinated Execution on a Tight Timeline
With equipment secured, execution required careful planning to minimize disruption to daily operations.
Work began in late spring with a tightly coordinated shutdown window. A weekend work plan was built around the facility’s schedule to reduce impact on the teams and services inside the building.
The site was shut down late Friday afternoon, and crews worked through the weekend to prepare the system for startup.
During startup, an unexpected issue emerged. A separate underground chilled-water leak was discovered. To avoid further complications, the system was shut back down so the issue could be addressed the right way.
Going Beyond the Contract
The underground leak was outside the original scope of work. But solving the problem was the right thing to do.
Brady’s team stayed engaged and focused on restoring reliable service. Over the following days, crews worked to locate the damaged line, complete the repair, and restore the system safely. The line was insulated and reburied to ensure long-term performance.
By the end of the week, the system was fully operational and dependable cooling was restored.
A Team Effort That Made the Difference
This outcome was made possible by Brady Associates across multiple teams. Their coordination, ownership, and pride in the work showed at every stage of the project.
The Outcome
What began as a time-sensitive mechanical failure became a success story built on problem-solving, teamwork, and a commitment to doing what is right for the customer.
For the facility, it meant restored reliability for critical public services. For Brady, it was another example of how our people make the difference when it matters most.
